  • I’ve done it now.
My friends say that I’m way too easily amused. I have to agree. puheeehee
By the way, if you have AIM you can create your own WeeMee at aim.weeworld.com.

  • I wrote this four months ago when my doggie passed away and after reading Lan’s post, I’ve been inspired to share it once more.

We forget how fragile life really is. We wait for Thanksgiving to give
thanks. Christmas to give gifts. Birthdays to celebrate a life. The
simple truth is it’s easy to succumb to the monotony of our lives,
allowing routine to cloud our judgement of what’s truly dear to us –
time spent with the ones you love. Whether it be family or friends…
or a certain cuddly pet, every moment should be treasured. The absence
of one in your life shatters the routine and you’re left with holding
dearly onto memories of what once was.

Life is fragile. I suggest that everyone go on a hugging spree. :)

Thanks to Lan (Sup007) for sharing this video below with his subbers. And now, I share it with all of you.

    This
is a touching story of a man, Juan Mann who’s quest was to show the
world how something as simple as a hug can truly make a difference.

How it all started: (taken from FreeHugsCampaign.org)

“I’d been living in London when
my world turned upside down and I’d had to come home. By the time my
plane landed back in Sydney, all I had left was a carry on bag full of
clothes and a world of troubles. No one to welcome me back, no place to
call home. I was a tourist in my hometown.

    Standing
there in the arrivals terminal, watching other passengers meeting their
waiting friends and family, with open arms and smiling faces, hugging
and laughing together, I wanted someone out there to be waiting for me.
To be happy to see me. To smile at me. To hug me.

    So I
got some cardboard and a marker and made a sign. I found the busiest
pedestrian intersection in the city and held that sign aloft, with the
words “Free Hugs” on both sides.

    And for 15 minutes,
people just stared right through me. The first person who stopped,
tapped me on the shoulder and told me how her dog had just died that
morning. How that morning had been the one year anniversary of her only
daughter dying in a car accident. How what she needed now, when she
felt most alone in the world, was a hug. I got down on one knee, we put
our arms around each other and when we parted, she was smiling.

Everyone has problems and for sure mine haven’t compared. But to see
someone who was once frowning, smile even for a moment, is worth it
    every time.” — Juan Mann

    Remember the Tsunami Charity Event/Party

We’re throwing a charity party to support on-going efforts for the tsunami rehabilitation projects. It’s been almost two years since this tragic occurence and it’s hard to believe there are still many villages yet to receive help. My friend, Ji who has seen the suffering first hand can attest to how much these people need our help to receive things we take for granted daily such as clean drinking water. Please come support this great cause and come boogie down with us! :)

So come drink and be merry with us while supporting a worthy cause. Bid on beautiful jewelry as well as a hot date. ;) See you there!

  • Back from my vacation. My email inbox looks like level 89 on tetris and I can’t keep up with all the work that keeps piling up. I need another vacation. =T

  • It’s been said that the road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination. I’m leaving for a trip today to visit some good friends who are very dear to me. Who knows what we’ll learn on this trip, but what is most certain is knowing that we’ll create memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Will miss you all. :)

  • Sometimes things just slip quietly away beyond our grasp and we are left with our fingers outstretched in solitude. It is at these times in which we must stand up strong and not let anyone see the tears that may betray us. Sometimes the hardest thing to learn is that no matter how sincere some words are at the moment, they are merely just words. Words that can either resonate in one’s heart and memory or be fickle and dance away into the air. And just as the the catepillar turns into a butterfly, things change. We just can’t count on it to be just as beautiful and accepted as we would like it to be.

But then again just as change is prevalent, so is hope. Hope that there are better days in store. For just as quickly as the winds may change, fate comes into play and makes everything right again. All you have to do is believe. Believe that we can write our own happy ending.

  • After discussions with balex, I’ve decided to move back to xanga after my short stint on blogger. Ah, home sweet home. Now I won’t be two clicks away from all of my xanga subscribers. :) I must say it feels quite comfy to be back and I had a grand ‘ol time polishing up what little photoshop skills I have and creating a new header. Every now and then, it’s good to sweep up the old and get on with the new. Wouldn’t you agree?

  • So what does Mimmie do on a beautiful sunny day?… and how fitting it was that it was actually a Sunday. (get it, get it? nudge nudge… oooh alright, the corn shall stop now)   Well, I’ll tell you what I did.  I washed my car:

      howardCar

Ooooooooook… so that’s not really my car.  That’s my friend, Howard’s M3.  And oook, I didn’t really wash my TL to be exact.  I recruited Howard to do it.  Yes, I know… I’m a smart girl.  I mean, he did say he enjoys washing his car.  So I figured, his… mine… same diffy. ;)

Wash wash wash scrub scrub scrub… I like to call it Operation Turn Mimmie’s Car From Gray to Black.

And while Howie was busy on his mission, I was of course busy giving out commands (aka basking in the sun).  Hey in my defense, Howie’s dad told me to sit back and take it easy.

    howardCar-3

And I turned out to be quite useful anyways.  Here’s me pointing out a spot that Howie missed:

    howardCar-4

Ok, I didn’t really sit around on my butt all morning long.  I did get get up every one in awhile to take pictures of Howie’s beautiful car.  Oh, looky who I found on his glossy car:

    howardCar-5

I wonder if Howie’s rims will fit on my car? [place evil plotting cackle here]

      howardCar-6

After the intial wash, Howard gave me two options: 1) have him wax my car which would take another two to three hours or 2) go to Tyson’s and eat.  Duh.  Food, of course!  He then went on to explain to me that wax to a car is like lotion to a girl’s skin.  I replied with one eyebrow raised, yeeeeeah ok, food it is then.

We then ventured onto the roof at Tyson’s and took some more pics of his pretty M3.

    howardCar-9

    howardCar-8

Here you see Howard in the reflection contemplating if he should jump and leave me his car. ;)

    The boy and his girl.

We eventually made it down to Gordon Biersch.  I got to try out the beer sampler to which I crinkled my nose after each teeny sip.  “Any keepers?” asks Howie.  “Naw, but then again I don’t like beer so I there’s no point for me to try them,” I replied.

I stopped taking pictures after this, because when the food came, I forgot about anything that didn’t have to do with me stuffing myself silly. :)
