  • Alrighty boys and girls... I have an inkling that I may perhaps offend some 360 hugging people out there, but just keep in mind... just because you do, doesn't mean you don't deserve my love. wahahaha ok, sorry that was mean of me. I do love you though. :)

So, without further ado while Xbox 360 owners sift through the initial next-gen pile picking out the few games worthy of carrying the moniker all the while coming up with ways to cool down its huge power supply to keep the console from crashing... future PS3 owners like myself are reveling in the twilight of our PS2's and chuckling under our breath. By the time developers figure out how to provide the greatly anticipated multithreaded 360 titles, the PS3 will have been long out and on its way to world domination part 3, riding on a launch which I've read is made up entirely of next-gen software without a retrofitted last-gen title in sight. Well, let's hope they can deliver or I will look like a big "ben-dan". I applaud Sony for taking their time to stress quality over caving to the immediacy of beating the competition. As my buddy Howard says, "patience is well worth it". I do believe that he may be referring to Texas Hold 'em but eh... it just fits so well here. heehee... well as I wait patiently for the PS3 to arrive, I am basking in the glow of my beloved PS2 and PSP. I'm also quite excited for the arrival of many scrumptious games soon to land in my eager hands.

    Tales of Legendia - PS2 .feb06
Namco's fifth tale of this series will be a storybook meets manga RPG sure to capture anime-loving hearts. It's packed with everything a memorable RPG should have-- epic soundtrack, masterful character design, and a fresh and innovative storyline. I'm quite stoked that the character design artist is Kazuto Nakazawa who is well known for his work in Armitage: Dual-Matrix, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, Magic Knight Rayearth, Samurai Champloo, and the anime sequences for Kill Bill Vol. 1.

Generation of Chaos - PSP .mar06
Ah, finally a SRPG for my sleek PSP. That's strategy role playing game for those of you who are tired of guessing acronyms. They're my favorite gaming genre because it's your standard RPG while also offering an enhanced and more strategic battle system. I will so not get anything done when this comes out. -_- If you do not see me for awhile, I am not dead but sitting happily with my trusty PSP.

And of course I can't wait to play Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts 2. In the meantime, why don't I start off with the existing and spectacular Dragon Quest VIII? Oh, so many games and so little time. What's a little girl to do? ^^*

Brought to you by the wise Jason quoting Sun-tzu:
"Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."

  • haha, keep in mind that the PS2's launch was relatively weak as well, so we'll see how the PS3 does when the time comes. also, the PS3 is even more multi-threaded than the 360 is from a hardware standpoint. it's just a matter of developers getting used to creating multithreaded software (which, unfortunately, is not that easy and even in the PC world is rarely used except on server platforms). that said, systems get better near the end of their shelf life and we're just now seeing this for the PS2. Like this year's software titles, next year will undoubtedly bring out the best of the last gen systems.
